Genetic genealogy is the process of applying autosomal DNA testing to traditional genealogical research. As the DNA databases grow in size, so too does the pool of potential relatives who become resources in your search. Each testing site has a different way it compares your DNA to others, to give you an approximation of how that DNA match is related to you. Using traditional genealogy research and understanding how matches can be related is the basis of genetic genealogy.
